Pricing Revealed: Moto Mods for the Moto Z are not going to come cheap
Alongwith the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, Lenovo also showcased some Moto Mods for the phones, which offer additional functionality to both phones, now we have their pricing and you are not going to like it.
According to a post on Reddit, a Verizon customer was able to take screenshots from the My Verizon app with the pricing of the upcoming Moto Mods and they are prohibitively high. Starting with the Insta-share Projector Case which will cost you $300 - no meagre amount.
Then there's the TUMI Wireless Charging Power Pack which will run you down another $100 while the normal battery-case would come in at $90 while the JBL SoundBoost Speaker Mod will come in at $80. If you prefer to go a bit more fashionable then there's the Katy Spade Style Shell for $79.
Lenovo is asking a huge premium for these accessories, especially battery-cases. You can buy a good budget smartphone for the price of the Insta-share Projector Case. With the Moto Z expected to be priced around $600 unlocked, even if you go for a battery-case that come out to be around $700 for the phone, which doesn't look at lucrative anymore.
Even though Motorola has made using the modules quite easy on the Moto Z, they would have a hard time selling them at this price.
