HUAWEI MatePad Air 12 and MatePad 11.5″ S 2025 launched with up to 12-inch 2.8K QHD+ 144Hz PaperMatte Screen
HUAWEI has launched its latest flagship tablets, the MatePad Air 12 and the MatePad 11.5″ S 2025, in China, both of which are based on HarmonyOS 5. As its name suggests, the MatePad Air 12 is a premium model with an all-metal build, measuring just 5.9mm in thickness and weighing 555g. It features a 12-inch 2.8K LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and TÜV Rheinland Hardware Grade Low Blue Light certification.
Despite its slim profile, it incorporates a 3D VC cooling system that boosts performance by 27%. The tablet is powered by a 10,100mAh battery with 66W fast charging, comes with a six-speaker audio setup, and supports accessories such as the Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro.
The MatePad 11.5″ S 2025, meanwhile, is positioned as a more affordable option. It features an 11.5-inch 2.8K LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3D VC cooling, and an 8,800mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. Both tablets offer an optional PaperMatte display, which reduces reflections by up to 99%. While HUAWEI hasn’t disclosed the exact processors powering these devices, they are expected to be based on the company’s Kirin SoCs.
Running on HarmonyOS 5, the new MatePads bring a suite of AI-powered features, including Circle to Search, split-screen document translation, AI multi-person voice transcription, real-time handwriting optimization, and more.

The HUAWEI MatePad Air 12 is offered in pink, green, white, and gray, while the MatePad 11.5″ S 2025 is available in green, purple, silver, and gray. Both tablets are now available for purchase in China via the HUAWEI Vmall platform.
