Microsoft Office comes to the iPad, free for reading and presenting
Microsoft Office has finally arrived on the iPad with three apps, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The apps are free to download and currently live on the US Apple App Store but for writing, editing or creating new documents Office 365 subscription is required.
Nevertheless, Office is the ubiquitous productivity suite of apps which was certainly missing on the iPad. What remains to be seen is whether the iOS versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint are as competent as their Windows RT counterparts.
Office for the iPad is being launched in 135 countries around the world including India however it will take some time to become live at the local App Stores. The US app store is now hosting all these apps, available for download from the links below.
