HONOR Magic V5 will be launched on July 2nd; the World’s Thinnest and Lightest Foldable Smartphone
HONOR has officially confirmed that the HONOR Magic V5 foldable smartphone will launch in China on July 5th. The announcement was reaffirmed today by HONOR CEO James Li during the MWC Shanghai 2025 event. He revealed that the Magic V5 will be HONOR’s most advanced AI-powered foldable yet.
It also claimed it will be the world’s thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone, surpassing the company’s own Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm when unfolded, 9.2mm when folded, and weighs 226g.
Positioned as a direct competitor to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, set for a global launch in early July, the Magic V5 is expected to offer a strong alternative for users seeking premium design, top-tier performance, and portability.
HONOR also shared that the Magic V5 will be equipped with sophisticated on-device AI features, aimed at delivering PC-like productivity and marking a significant leap forward in smart foldable technology.
According to earlier reports, the phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset, a 7.95-inch 2K+ LTPO foldable display, a 50MP rear camera setup, and a 6100mAh third-generation silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W wired charging.
More details are expected to emerge soon, and a global launch is likely to follow later this year.
