Vivo is preparing to launch its latest smartphone in the X300 series, the Vivo X300s in China later this month as the successor to last year’s vivo X200s. Vivo executive Han Boxiao recently shared official details about the upcoming device, clarifying its naming and highlighting several major hardware upgrades.

Responding to recent online rumours about a device called the “X300 Max,” Han explained that the “Max” name was indeed considered internally because of the phone’s larger size and enhanced specifications. However, the company ultimately chose to keep the familiar naming scheme. The device will launch as the vivo X300s, where the “s” represents “SuperMax,” reflecting its larger form factor and improved capabilities.

The X300s is positioned as a large-screen flagship aimed at users who want a balance between advanced photography and strong gaming performance. Han added that while the X300 Ultra targets professional-level imaging, the X300s will feature a Zeiss-backed 200MP sensor, delivering flagship camera performance without sacrificing processing power.

The phone will feature a 6.78-inch flat display using BOE Q10 Plus panel material. It will introduce a 144Hz refresh rate, marking the first time such a high refresh rate appears in the vivo X series. The screen will also support native 144FPS gameplay for large-scale MOBA mobile games. Additionally, it incorporates Circular Polarized Light 2.0 technology, designed to make screen viewing more comfortable for the eyes.

The X300s will adopt the “1511 War Drum Master” symmetrical dual-speaker Pro system, similar to the setup used in the iQOO 15. Large 1511 speakers are placed at both the top and bottom of the device, paired with upgraded amplifiers and tuning algorithms to deliver a wider soundstage. In gaming scenarios, this setup is intended to improve sound clarity and spatial positioning, making audio cues such as footsteps or gunfire easier to detect.

    Haptics (Touch) -

For haptic feedback, vivo has included a custom 751440 ultra-sensory vibration motor, which Han claims is the largest and most powerful ever used in the X series. Despite being smaller and lighter than a standard 0816 motor, it reportedly delivers vibration strength comparable to a 1016 motor and offers 2.2× the bandwidth of a traditional 9595 motor. The system also supports customizable 4D vibration effects for more than 10 popular mobile games.

Last week, Roland Quandt shared images of the phone in a protective case from MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The photos reveal a camera layout with two lenses placed on either side of the Zeiss T logo and a third lens positioned above them*. The smartphone is also expected to feature the Dimensity 9500 processor and a 7000mAh battery.

More details about the device, including its official launch date, are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
