Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses will launch in India on December 1, marking the arrival of a new generation of performance-driven smart eyewear, following their global debut in June. This lineup is tailored for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and active users.

AI-Powered Smart Performance -

The Oakley Meta HSTN model is built for demanding activities, offering durability and advanced functionality. Key highlights include:

• 3K camera with an ultra-wide 12MP sensor for hands-free photo and video capture
• Capture LED indicator for privacy during recording
• Open-ear directional Bluetooth speakers for audio playback and calls while keeping environmental awareness

• Built-in Meta AI assistant for hands-free commands—play music, get updates, capture photos, send messages, and more using “Hey Meta”
• Touch and voice controls for managing media, calls, and interactions
• IPX4 water resistance for protection against sweat, splashes, and rain (charging case not water-resistant)
• Battery life: up to 8 hours of typical use, 5 hours of continuous audio, 19 hours standby
• Fast charging: 50% in 22 minutes, 80% in 45 minutes; charging case provides up to 48 hours of total use
• Accessibility support with voice control and Be My Eyes integration
• Compatible with Android 10+ and iPhone X+ (iOS 15.2+) via the Meta AI app

Smarter AI for Daily Use -

The glasses feature integrated Meta AI, allowing hands-free access to real-time information and assistance with the command “Hey Meta.”

A major India-focused feature is full Hindi language support. Users can switch to Hindi from the Meta AI app settings, enabling hands-free commands, content capture, media control, and queries entirely in Hindi—powered by Sarvam’s language technology.

New Meta AI Enhancements -

Meta AI is also gaining a Celebrity AI Voice option, offering responses in expressive, recognizable voices. Actress Deepika Padukone’s voice is among the first available for Indian users in English.

Meta is further testing a secure UPI QR-code payment feature that will let users complete UPI Lite transactions through their WhatsApp-linked bank account directly from the glasses. Users simply look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay.”
