Lava Shark launched in India at Rs.6,999 with 6.67-inch 120Hz display, 50MP camera, 5000mAh battery

Lava International Limited has launched its latest smartphone in the new Shark series, the Lava Shark, targeting first-time smartphone users in the affordable ₹9,000 segment. The company stated that this launch expands its product lineup while emphasizing design, performance, and build quality to deliver a superior user experience.

The Lava Shark features a 6.67-inch HD+ punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. It also boasts fast unlocking options, with face unlock in 0.68 seconds and fingerprint unlock in 0.28 seconds, ensuring quick and secure access.

Designed for durability, the device comes with an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. Under the hood, it is powered by a UNISOC T606 octa-core processor, paired with 4GB RAM and an additional 4GB virtual RAM for seamless multitasking. The phone includes 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB.

For photography, the 50MP AI rear camera and 8MP front camera support features like AI Mode, Portrait, Pro Mode, and HDR, enhancing the photography experience. Running on Android 14, the device supports dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for added convenience.

The Shark is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, taking approximately 158 minutes for a full charge. Lava claims the phone delivers up to 45 hours of talk time, 376 hours of standby, and 550 minutes of YouTube playback, making it ideal for extended use.
