Apple Announces WWDC 2025 for June 9 to 13th: New Software Updates and Swift Student Challenge Details
Apple has announced that WWDC 2025 will occur from June 9 to June 13. As in previous years, the event will be streamed live via the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website. Additionally, an in-person special event will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 19 -
Apple is expected to introduce a VisionOS-inspired software overhaul across iOS, macOS, and iPadOS, featuring Circular App Icons, Translucent Panels, and enhanced 3D Depth and Shadows.
Reports suggest that Apple is postponing several Siri features initially planned for iOS 19. These features, demonstrated at last year’s WWDC, are now expected to be released with iOS 19.4 in spring 2026.
Regarding device compatibility, iPadOS 19 will reportedly drop support for the iPad (7th generation), as the minimum requirement is said to be an A12 chip.
Swift Student Challenge 2025 -
Apple has already announced the Swift Student Challenge 2025, offering student developers an opportunity to showcase their coding skills by creating a Swift playground.
On March 27, applicants will be notified of their status, and winners will be eligible to apply for the special event at Apple Park. Additionally, 50 Distinguished Winners, recognized for exceptional submissions, will be invited to Cupertino, California, for a three-day experience.
Apple has stated that further details about WWDC25 will be shared in advance through the Apple Developer app and the WWDC25 website.
