Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Specs Surfaced Online Ahead of Expected Launch
Qualcomm is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 next week as the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, debunking earlier rumors that it would be named the Snapdragon 8s Elite. Now, detailed specifications of the chip, identified by model number SM8735, have surfaced.
Unlike the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, which features a custom 2+6 Oryon core architecture, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is said to adopt a 1+3+2+2 core configuration.
The rumored specifications include:
- 1 x 3.21GHz Cortex-X4 prime core
- 3 x 3.01GHz Cortex-A720 + 2 x 2.80GHz Cortex-A720 performance cores
- 2 x 2.02GHz Cortex-A720 efficiency cores
The chipset is expected to feature an Adreno 825 GPU, belonging to the same generation as the Adreno 830 GPU found in the Snapdragon 8 Elite but with fewer cores. It will also include 6MB of system-level cache (SLC) and 8MB of L3 cache. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the chip is projected to achieve an AnTuTu score exceeding 2 million.
Earlier reports suggest that the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and REDMI Turbo 4 Pro will be among the first smartphones to debut with this chip when it launches in early April 2025. The REDMI Turbo 4 Pro is also expected to launch globally as the POCO F7. Additionally, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro and OPPO K13 Pro are rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
