Android 7.0 Nougat build for Xiaomi Mi 5 in the works
Screenshots of upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat built for the Xiaomi Mi5 have surfaced online. At present this is just an alpha build so there are a lot of changes expected before the final build rolls out.
Xiaomi is expected to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 next year with some significant changes to UI design. If you look at the screenshots above, at present MIUI hasn't been laid on top of Android Nougat yet. Apart from the power and settings menu not much represents Xiaomi's take on Android. But these are very early days and the launcher may just be in the works at present.
The company is said to incorporate more material design elements in upcoming MIUI builds, which we have already seen on the beta build including the expandable quick toggles similar to stock Android.
We will be keeping a close lookout at the development of the new Nougat ROM for Xiaomi smartphones, so do stay tuned.
Thanks Sharun, for sending in the tip!
