Xiaomi Redmi 4 gets certified with 5-inch 1080p display
After leaked images, specs the Xiaomi Redmi 4 has passed through TENNA Certification in China, meaning a launch is imminent. The listing clears a lot of confusion regarding the smartphone including the presence of an upgraded 5-inch 1080p display, 4000 mAh battery, 13MP rear and 5MP front facing selfie camera.
The design of the phone is similar to the Redmi Note 3 with a center mounted camera and fingerprint sensor. It is expected to run on the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor built on a 14nm process for better efficiency. It packs the new Adreno 506 GPU, and we expect 2GB/3GB RAM variants with 16GB/32GB storage options just like the Redmi 3S.
According to the listing, where the name of the phone hasn't been shown, instead we just get a moniker 2016060 there will be 4G with possibly VoLTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS available on the device as well. The Redmi 4 will pack a massive 4000 mAh battery similar to its predecessor in a 8.9mm thin shell weighing in at 160 grams.
Xiaomi has scheduled an event for August 25 where the Redmi 4 is expected to be unveiled but given the proximity of the date there hasn't been the usual buzz surrounding a launch. We will be keeping a lookout for you.
