Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is the larger Mi 6 you always wanted
Xiaomi has launched its third generation note flagship, the Mi Note 3. Essentially it is a larger version of Mi 6 with some hardware differences. In case you were waiting for a true successor to the Mi Note 2, it is going to disappoint.
The dual SIM smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with 403 PPI pixel density. It runs on the Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor and Adreno 512 GPU, not Snapdragon 835 as on the Mi Mix 2. The 2.2 GHz processor works alongside a 6 GB of RAM. When it comes to storage you get two options; either 64 GB or 128 GB. Whatever your choice be, there’s no option to expand the storage using an external SD card.
On the back, Mi Note 3 bears a dual rear camera setup with a 12 MP sensor with wide-angle lens of f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.6 telephoto lens. The setup offers 2X optical zoom, 4K video recording, PDAF, and 4-axis optical image stabilization (just like Mi Mix 2). Everything is powered by a 3500 mAh battery.
The main highlight of the device is its AI based selfie beautification capability, on which the company has been reportedly working for over six months. The smartphone has different algorithms for men and women to beautify selfies.
The price for Mi Note 3 starts at CNY 2499 (around 24500 INR). The 6GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage variant in Black is priced at CNY 2,899 (roughly Rs. 28,300) and the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant in Blue at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 29,400). At present, there is no word whether the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 would be sold outside of China.
