Samsung Galaxy Note8 arrives in India, dual-cameras, dual-OIS priced at Rs. 67,900
Samsung today launched the Galaxy Note8 in India powered by the Exynos 9 series 8895 octa-core processor. The Note8 is an evolution of the design on the Galaxy Note 7, and packs the company's new Infinity display. With the 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, the Note8 is slightly bigger than the Galaxy S8+.
The biggest change here are the dual cameras with 2X optical zoom. You get a 12MP main camera with dual pixel autofocus and f/1.7 aperture lens along with a secondary 12MP camera with telephoto lens, f/2.4 aperture. The camera is capable of taking portrait shots as well along with something Samsung calls Live Focus. Using this you can change the focus of the image and adjust the background blur even after the image has been taken.
For the first time, Samsung has included 6GB RAM on a smartphone and yes, the Note8 also get 64GB of base storage with a microSD card slot. The variant sold in India will come with a hybrid dual-SIM card slot.
On the software front, Samsung Experience has been upgraded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. It brings in some new S-Pen features including taking longer screen-off memos. Then there's the ability to translate an entire line of text by just hovering over it. The tip on the S-Pen has been made thinner compared to the Note5 with improved pressure sensitivity. There is a new App-pair mode as well which lets you launch two apps together in multi-window mode.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be available in Maple Gold, Midnight Black color options in India and it has been priced at Rs. 67,900. It will be available starting September 21st on Amazon.in and Samsung store online. Pre-orders are now open.
