Xiaomi HyperOS as Successor to MIUI Confirmed, first Debut in Xiaomi 14 Series

Xiaomi HyperOS launch soon Xiaomi 14 series.

Xiaomi has officially announced that Xiaomi HyperOS will succeed MIUI as the company's current UI or operating system used in their existing smartphones and tablets, Following speculation and certification. Rumors about MiOS have circulated, and the company recently filed for trademarks for 'Xiaomi Pengpai' and 'Xiaomi Hyper'. While the English term is HyperOS, the Chinese translation reads as ThePaper OS.

Lei Jun, the CEO of the company, has confirmed that the Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to incorporate the new OS, with production already underway. Jun further stated that HyperOS will gradually replace MIUI in older devices currently running it.

The nature of Xiaomi's shift to HyperOS remains uncertain, as it is not clear whether the new system will be based on the Android version, similar to how ColorOS, OxygenOS, OneUI, Funtouch OS, and others update their software annually, using the latest Android version as their foundation. Some reports suggest that Xiaomi may adopt AOSP and a microkernel, drawing inspiration from HUAWEI's Harmony OS.

More information about HyperOS is expected to surface in the upcoming weeks, as the introduction of the new OS from Xiaomi is anticipated to coincide with the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series, likely in November.
