Qualcomm Confirms Snapdragon Summit 2025 Scheduled for September 23rd to 25th; Expected Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and X Elite Successor
At the COMPUTEX 2025 Keynote, Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon announced that the company’s eighth annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 23 to 25, 2025, which is about a month earlier than last year’s event.
Amon also confirmed that Qualcomm will unveil its next-generation Snapdragon X Series, including the successor to the Snapdragon X Elite—the company’s flagship PC chipset first introduced in 2023.
Additionally, Qualcomm is expected to launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850), the follow-up to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite powered by Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores. According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, the new chip will be built on TSMC’s N3P process and will feature significantly enhanced GPU performance.
Smartphones featuring the new chip—such as the Xiaomi 16 series—are anticipated to debut by late September, aiming to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone 17 series, which is expected in early September. Other upcoming devices, including the iQOO 14, OnePlus 15, and HONOR Magic8 series, are also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
More information on the Snapdragon X Elite 2 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected in the coming weeks.
