Qualcomm launched Dragonwing IQ-X Series Industrial Processors with Oryon CPUs, Up to 45 TOPS AI, Rugged Design, Long-Term IoT Support

Qualcomm Technologies has introduced the Dragonwing IQ-X Series, a new family of industrial-grade processors built for PLCs, advanced HMIs, edge controllers, panel PCs, and box PCs. Designed for harsh industrial environments, the lineup delivers broad peripheral compatibility, strong multimedia capabilities, and energy-efficient performance.
Dragonwing IQ-X Series Highlights -
Created to meet the needs of industrial OEMs and ODMs, the series offers:
- High-performance computing: Single- and multi-thread processing tailored for industrial workloads.
- AI capabilities: Qualcomm Oryon CPUs with 8–12 high-performance cores and up to 45 TOPS of AI processing.
- Rugged durability: Supports an industrial operating temperature range from -40°C to 105°C.
- Security and connectivity: Robust security features with extensive connectivity support.
- Long-term availability: Built for extended lifecycle deployments.
The processors follow standard COM module form factors, enabling drop-in replacements on existing carrier boards. An evaluation kit is also available, offering scalable options for various industrial needs. They support common hardware peripherals and bridge chips and are compatible with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, as well as development platforms like Qt, CODESYS, and EtherCAT.
AI-Driven Industrial Solutions -
With an integrated NPU, the series works seamlessly with the Qualcomm® AI Software Stack and runtimes such as ONNX and PyTorch. This makes it easier to deploy AI models for tasks like predictive maintenance, condition-based monitoring, and defect detection, accelerating the development of intelligent edge systems.
