Panasonic Eluga Tapp 4G VoLTE smartphone launched with front-facing fingerprint sensor for Rs. 8990
Like most manufacturers, Panasonic too is moving to a front-facing fingerprint sensor with the new, aptly named, Eluga Tapp.
The 4G VoLTE smartphone in the Eluga series sports a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display without any word on display protection. Its powered by a 1.25 GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
On the camera front there isn't much to be excited about with an 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. But you do have a flash at the back. The most interesting change from previous Panasonic smartphones is the front fingerprint sensor which doubles up as the home button. It's a relatively thin phone at 8.15mm, you get dual-SIM 4G VoLTE support and the usual set of connectivity options.
It's good to see manufacturers going back to smaller form factors with 5-inch displays, as most are concentration on the 5.5-inch or larger displays.
