OPPO A5 5G launched in India starting at Rs.15,499 with 6.67-inch 120Hz display, military-grade durability, 6000mAh battery
OPPO has launched its latest 5G smartphone in the A series, the OPPO A5 5G, in India, following the debut of the OPPO A5x 5G last month. The device features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.
Built for durability, the phone is MIL-STD-810H certified, having undergone extensive testing against extreme heat, humidity, and shock. It also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. According to OPPO, the A5 5G boasts a 360° Armour Body, combining reinforced flagship-grade glass that offers 160% better impact resistance than the OPPO A3 5G, along with a custom high-strength alloy frame.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, the phone supports up to 8GB of RAM. It sports a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Despite its slim 7.99mm profile, it houses a large 6000mAh battery and comes bundled with a 45W SuperVOOC charger.
The battery charges to 30% in just 21 minutes and hits 50% in 37 minutes. OPPO also claims the A5x 5G’s battery retains over 80% of its health after 1,700 charge cycles—translating to around 5 years of reliable daily usage.
