Is this the OnePlus X, that has just visited the FCC?

An unannounced OnePlus handset has just visited the FCC and we have the above picture to show for it. This seems smaller than the OnePlus 2 and comes with a different design language, and might be the OnePlus X or OnePlus Mini we have been hearing about.

The specs of the so-rumored OnePlus Mini have been roaming around the rumor mills for quite some time. It is supposed to have a 5-inch 1080p display running on the MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with 2GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage. There is speculation of a 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera here.

Coming back to the device in question, it has a model number One E1005. There is also a micro-USB connector on the device you see above unlike the USB Type-C on the OnePlus 2.  There is a metal frame which surrounds the entire device but not much can be said about the texture on the back of the device. You might have dual bottom firing stereo speakers here, but this is mere speculation based on the design of the smartphone.

There is no confirmation on any specs, pricing or availability of the OnePlus X (OnePlus Mini). But the company is doing a press conference in India on October 12th which might be the perfect time to launch a new smartphone before the festive season begins here. The OnePlus Mini or OnePlus X is expected to be priced less than $250 (about Rs. 16,000) which would be an excellent entry point in the mid-range segment for the company.

We'll know more possibly at the October 12th event in India.
