Gionee to launch its first "Made in India" smartphone on October 12
Gionee has sent out invites for its first made in India smartphone on October 12th. The company had said earlier they were going to launch their first manufactured in India before Diwali and we are going to see it soon.
Gionee has partnered with FoxConn and Dixon to start manufacturing in Visakhapatnam, India. The Foxconn plant will focus on the F and P series smartphones while feature phones will be manufactured by Dixon.
Xiaomi too has already started manufacturing in India recently with the Redmi 2 Prime. There is a long line-up of smartphone vendors who are looking to set-up manufacturing in India with some who have already started including the likes of Asus, Lenovo, Motorola, Micromax, Karbonn, Celkon, HTC and Sony.
