There will be no successor to the OnePlus X
OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau has confirmed there will be no successor to the budget oriented, OnePlus X.
He cleared that OnePlus would instead like to focus on its flagship smartphones, which he believed were neglected last year. Couldn't agree more there, with botched-up updated for both OnePlus One and OnePlus 2, alongwith the luke-warm reception to last years' flagship, this would be the right step to scale down on theline and focus on their hero product.
OnePlus further plans to merge development resources for Oxygen OS and Hydrogen OS (skinned for China) to make it easier to merge branches across devices and updates, it could be announced later this year.
OnePlus X may not have been a huge success for the company but it was widely praised for its design and build. So, we may not see a new smartphone from OnePlus atleast this year, but there may be some smart accessories on the way.
