OnePlus 15 launched with 6.78-inch 1.5K 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, 7300mAh battery

OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15 at an event in China, as previously promised. It features a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with ultra-narrow 1.15mm equilateral bezels and a slim chin, delivering an impressive screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience.

It debuts the world’s first third-generation Oriental screen, offering next-generation visual performance. This is also the first-ever 165Hz high-resolution display supporting high refresh rates on apps like WeChat, QQ, Xiaohongshu, and Weibo.

The display boasts DisplayMate A++ certification, incorporating custom X3 luminescent materials and a P3 screen chipset built using China’s proprietary “in-house developed display science production line.” OnePlus claims its specifications exceed traditional DisplayMate A++ standards.

It also debuts Android’s first True Hardware 1nit Dark Night Display, providing exceptional clarity and comfort in low-light environments. With hardware-level low blue light, an SVM below 0.12, and the “Little Gold Label” eye protection certification, the display promises both performance and eye safety.

Performance -

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. To manage thermals, the phone uses the new Glacier Cooling System, featuring the industry’s first ultra-thin “hand-tearable steel” material, which expands vapor chamber space by 43% and boosts capillary water absorption by 100%. It also introduces aerospace-grade supercritical aerogel insulation—technology derived from space rocket engines—to keep the phone cool during heavy use.

The OnePlus 15 also debuts the G2 gaming network chip, optimizing Wi-Fi and cellular performance. According to OnePlus, it reduces network latency by 65.85%, improves game update speeds by 71.3%, and accelerates video transmission by 42% in congested networks.

It further features Android’s first “Touch Display Sync” system, greatly enhancing touch accuracy and response. This results in a 77% improvement in aiming precision, 60% reduction in zeroing error, and 11% lower gyro latency. The OnePlus 15 is also the official device for the Valorant Mobile National Tournament and Peace Elite Pro League.

Design -

The OnePlus 15 embraces a bold new “Dune Aesthetic” design, combining futuristic form with natural inspiration. The Metal Cube Deco design incorporates refined metallic textures, golden corner accents for better grip, and precisely engineered 1.15mm square edges for a balanced, immersive feel. A 50:50 weight distribution, metal mid-frame, and multi-function shortcut key enhance its flagship ergonomics.

The phone comes in striking finishes:

• Dune – made using the industry’s first Primary Color Nanometal Process, offering elegant simplicity.
• Absolute Black – features the world’s first Fully Matte Silk Glass, symbolizing power in minimalism.
• Misty Purple – uses Dual-Dimensional Flowing Glass for a soft, fluid visual effect.

It also includes IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance, dual stereo speakers, a high-performance X-axis vibration motor, N79 high-frequency band support, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 high-speed data transfer.

Camera -

The OnePlus 15 features OPPO’s LUMO Condensed Light Imaging system, led by a 50MP Sony main sensor with OIS, powered by OPPO’s flagship imaging algorithms for improved detail and natural skin tones.

It also includes a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens, and an 85mm portrait lens. The phone supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video recording, AI-powered portrait lighting, ultra-clear Live Photos, and high-definition portrait capture.

Battery and Charging -

The device packs a massive 7300mAh “Glacier Battery” and is the only flagship this year to offer both 120W Super Flash Charge and 50W Wireless Flash Charge.

According to OnePlus, the phone can charge 1604mAh in 30 minutes or 5000mAh in 13 minutes faster than previous models. A quick 5-minute charge provides up to 6 hours of streaming, ensuring uninterrupted entertainment.

OnePlus has also confirmed its global and India launch, expected to take place in mid-November, making it the first smartphone in India powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
