Motorola edge 50 launching in India on August 1st with 6.67-inch 1.5K pOLED curved display, military-grade durability
Motorola has officially announced the launch of its next smartphone in their Edge series, the Edge 50 in India on August 1st, following teasers. It will be the world's slimmest phone with military-grade durability. Meeting the MIL-810H standard, it can endure extreme temperatures, pressure, shock, vibration, dust, and salt fog, according to Motorola.
The phone will also have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Motorola has confirmed that it will be available in Jungle Green and Pantone Peach Fuzz with a vegan leather finish and in Koala Grey with a vegan suede finish.
The Edge 50 will feature a 50MP rear camera with a Sony LYT-700C sensor, a 13MP 120° ultra-wide camera with a macro option, and a 10MP telephoto camera with up to 30x digital zoom. It will also have a 32MP front camera.
Motorola claims the 6.67-inch curved pOLED display, with a brightness of up to 1900 nits, will be the brightest in its segment. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition 4nm SoC, with a vapour chamber cooling system, and up to 256GB of storage. It will run on Android 14, and Motorola promises 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates.
The phone will come with a 5000mAh battery, supporting 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Motorola Edge 50 will be available from Motorola.in, Flipkart, and offline stores after the launch.
