HTC went all out today and launched 7 smartphones in India, namely the HTC 10, HTC 10 Lifestyle, One X9, Desire 830, Desire 628, Desire 825 and Desire 630.

    HTC 10

The HTC 10 flagship that many have been waiting to get their hands-on finally went official today in India although at a much higher price point of Rs. 52,990. We expected it to be priced under Rs. 50,000 but HTC had other plans.

It packs the latest from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 820, paired with 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and a 5.2-inch Quad-HD Super LCD display running Android Marshmallow. There's an improved 12MP rear camera here with a 5MP front-camera both of which have Optical Image Stabilization for blur-free images. Then you also have BoomSound, Quick Charge 3.0 over the USB Type-C port and an all-metal build like previous HTC flagships.

HTC 10 goes on sale on June 5th in India through both online and offline retailers, and first 500 customers get a free Ice View case.

    HTC 10 Lifestyle

Next on the roster is the HTC 10 Lifestyle which packs all the goodness of the HTC 10 flagship but runs on the Snapdragon 652 SoC instead of 820. Earlier this was the variant that was specifically built for regions like India and Latin America, but following media and consumer outrage, the company decided to launch both variants.

Although HTC didn't mention the pricing, nor availability of the phone.

    HTC One X9

This is the MediaTek Helio X10 flavored smartphone from HTC and it comes with 3GB RAM running on Android Marshmallow with new Sense UI on top. There's a 5.5-inch 1080p display here as well along with Gorilla Glass protection.

    HTC One X9

The One X9 packs 32GB onboard storage which is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. It has a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, BSI Sensor and can record 4K videos while the 5MP front-camera supports recording upto 1080.

The HTC One X9 too has a metal unibody construction with easy to use SIM and memory card slots. You also have dual BoomSound speakers up front. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFiac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS but there's no fingerprint sensor here.

It has been priced at Rs. 25,990 and will be available starting June 20th, in Topaz Gold and Carbon Grey colors.

    HTC Desire 628

This is the latest smartphone from the company in its Desire series and comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display running on a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and Android 5.1 Lollipop

    Htc Desire 628

Its quite a light device at just 142 grams and packs a 2200 mAh battery. Then you also have a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens capable of recording 1080p videos alongwith a 5MP front-camera with 75-degree wide-angle lens. The original front-firing stereo BoomSound makes a return on the Desire 628.

Connectivity options are standard with two nano-SIM slots with 4G LTE support, separate microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM Radio but no fingerprint sensor. HTC is focusing more on design with the Desire 628 and it comes in some striking color options, Cobalt White and Sunset Blue.

It has been priced at Rs. 13,990 and will go on sale starting June 5th alongside the HTC 10.

    HTC Desire 830

The HTC Desire 830 is still a respectable entry in the mid-range segment, considering the next two smartphones in HTC's line-up.

    Htc Desire 830

The Desire 830 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass protection and runs on the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage. There is a 13MP rear camera here with OIS, f/2.0 aperture and 4MP UltraPixel front-facing camera for selfies. You can expand storage with a dedicated microSD card slot and there are two nano-SIM slots with support for 4G LTE. There is a 2800 mAh battery with support for fast charging to keep the phone going.

BoomSound speakers come standard on the Desire 830 alongwith support for Dolby Audio. There is no word on pricing of the Desire 830 but it is expected to come later in June.

    HTC Desire 825

Next up on the list is the HTC Desire 825 with a micro Splash design covering its polycarbonate body. Its striking, and the color scheme is continued with the accents on the camera, buttons and earpiece.

    Htc Desire 825 1

Although the Desire 825 too seems quite mediocre when it comes to specs, it runs on the ancient Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage but still costs Rs. 18990. The camera too is nothing to write home about, you have a basic 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with BSI sensor and a 5MP front-facing camera. BoomSound speakers in their new avatar with one tweeter and one sub-woofer can be found here as well.

There's 4G LTE connectivity with the two nano-SIM slots which are accompanied by a separate microSD card slot to expand storage. HTC was atleast a bit generous with the battery on the device and has packed a 2700 mAh unit which doesn't support fast charging. Then there's no fingerprint sensor on the device either.

The Desire 825 and the next smartphone on the list, the Desire 630 are among the most in-competitive smartphones HTC launched today, running on 4 year old SoC with mediocre specs and no practical appeal.

    HTC Desire 630

The Desire 630 is simply a smaller Desire 825 and packs pretty much the same internals. Instead of a 5.5-inch display, you now get a 5-inch 720p display here and the back has the same micro-splash paint effect as the 825.

    Htc Desire 630

Then its still running on the dated Snapdragon 400 processor, and just to bring it in perspective, the first Moto G was launched with SD400 way back in 2013. But HTC seems to think its still fair to use a four-year old SoC on its "new" phones.

Anyways, you have 2GB RAM here too, 16GB expandable storage via a separate microSD card slot and a 2200 mAh battery. You do get dual-stereo front-firing BoomSound speakers here alongwith a front-facing 5MP camera, while at the back you have a 13MP f/2.4 camera which can record 1080p videos.

At present there is no word on pricing or availability of the Desire 630, but you shouldn't care about this device anyways.
