Everything you need to know about Jio 4G official plans, pricing, data packs
Mukesh Ambani at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited, formally announced the Jio 4G network in India.
There has been a lot of interest in Reliance Jio in India and rightly so. This is the country's first all-IP network ready for future digital telecom technologies. To bring its 4G VoLTE capable network to the public Jio has plans for some entry level Jio smartphones starting at just Rs. 2999. You can also choose to move to higher tiers from Rs. 3999 to Rs. 5999.
With the new devices, Mukesh Ambani also announced that Rs. 15,000 worth premium Jio Apps subscription will be free till December 2017 for all users. The company has already established a network that covers 18,000 cities and 2 lakh villages.
Reliance Jio 4G Plans, Pricing Explained
Voice calls will always be free on Jio 4G to any network (Local and STD) and there will be no roaming charges. Moreover, there will be no blackout days on special occasions or festivals where people will be charged more. To help customers, Reliance will also start AADHAAR based e-KYC for instant activation. This service will start in Mumbai and Delhi first, later rolled out to the rest of the country.

Data tariffs for Jio 4G start at Rs. 50/GB and is among the lowest in the world. Students will also be able to avail additional 25% data with a valid student ID. The JioFi WiFi Hotspot has been priced at Rs. 1999 and all the tariff plans will apply to that as well. You would be able to make phone calls using the JioFi hotspot using the Jio 4G Voice (formerly Jio Join) App.
The Jio 4G network goes live for the public starting September 5th and will be free for all till December 31st 2016. All 4G devices will be eligible starting September 5th and VoLTE is not required for making calls, you can also use the Jio Join app. Unlimited voice calling is free with all packs, even daily and weekly ones.
As far as we have heard MNP will be coming in 2017, only after the network is fully deployed and the welcome offer is over.
