Xiaomi Redmi 5A announced, featuring 5-inch display, 3000 mAh battery
Xiaomi has just launched its new budget smartphone, the Redmi 5A. The 4G VoLTE capable smartphone packs a 5-inch HD display and runs on the Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor similar to last year's Redmi 4A. On the software front, you will find MIUI 9 running on the inside with Android 7.1 underpinnings.
There's a 13MP rear camera here with phase-detection autofocus LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. It features a hybrid SIM card slot with unibody construction and packs a 3000 mAh battery which is non-removable. All this is tucked inside an 8.35mm thin body with a total weight of 137 grams including battery.
Similar to its predecessor, the Redmi 5A doesn't have a fingerprint sensor but it does have an infrared sensor which allows you to control your television, set-top box and other electronic devices in your household.
There's just one variant with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage which is expandable using the hybrid SIM card slot. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and FM Radio.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will come in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold and Rose Gold color options priced at CNY 599 (about $90 / Rs. 5900.) It is now available in China.
