Xiaomi 13 series and MIUI 14 to be launched on December 11 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and more

Update - Xiaomi today confirmed that the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and MIUI 14 OS will be launched on December 11th, after postponing the event.

Earlier - Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its latest flagship smartphones in the Xiaomi 13 series the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro along with the latest MIUI 14 on December 1st in China, after rumors. The teaser image shows the flat screen of the Xiaomi 13 and the curved screen of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Both these will have a metal frame similar to the predecessors.

Xiaomi also confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 flat screen would use custom high-end OLED panels with ultra-narrow bezels of just 1.61 mm on all sides. As per the teaser, the phones will feature a Leica optics lens and also confirmed IP68 dust and waterproof ratings. The company also teased nano-skin technology, a new material innovation that will offer a leather-like feel, better anti-wear, anti-discoloration, and anti-dirt features. This also offers anti-ultraviolet, anti-yellow, anti-erosion, and anti-fouling features.

Xiaomi already confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 series runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Based on earlier rumors, the Xiaomi 13 will feature a 6.2-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, and the Pro version could have a 6.7-inch Samsung 2K E6 AMOLED curved screen with a narrower frame compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is said to feature the latest 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and the Xiaomi 13 is said to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX8 series primary rear camera, and both support OIS.

We should know more details and the full specifications of the phones in the coming days before these go officially launched this Thursday.
