Vivo X100 Ultra launched with 6.78-inch 2K 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 200MP Telephoto camera
Vivo has launched its newest flagship smartphone in the X100 series, the Vivo X100 Ultra, X100s, and X100s Pro in China, as they promised. Let's delve into the highlights of the vivo X100 Ultra. Its standout feature lies in its state-of-the-art camera system. The primary camera boasts a Sony LYT-900 sensor with a 1-inch type, while the periscope camera utilizes a groundbreaking 200MP ISOCELL HP9 sensor, jointly developed with Samsung, making it the largest telephoto sensor ever featured in a phone.
The periscope camera, sporting a 1/1.4" sensor - the largest seen in a phone to date - offers an f/2.67 aperture and an 85mm equivalent focal length. With up to 3.7x optical zoom and 20x magnification in telephoto macro mode, it boasts industry-leading CIPA 4.5 telephoto stabilization. Additionally, it incorporates Zeiss T* coating and APO certification for improved clarity and reduced fringing.
Vivo introduces its proprietary BlueImage algorithm with the X100 Ultra, designed to tackle common photography challenges such as backlighting and low-light detail preservation. Moreover, the device is powered by the Vivo V3+ imaging chip, enabling 4K portrait video recording.
The X100 Ultra's 50MP main camera features a 1/0.98” LYT-900 sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, gimbal stabilization, and supports 4K 120fps video recording and Dolby Vision. It also includes a 14mm equivalent ultrawide camera with a 1/2" 50MP LYT-600 sensor.
In terms of display, the X100 Ultra boasts a curved 6.78-inch E7 LTPO AMOLED 2K display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and a 1-120Hz refresh rate, offering up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. It incorporates a 50MP front-facing camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Weighing 229 grams and measuring 9.23mm thick, it houses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.
Running on OriginOS 4 based on Android 14, the device is fueled by a 5,500mAh battery supporting fast wired 80W and wireless charging at 30W. It also supports 5.5G and two-way satellite connectivity in China, in addition to standard connectivity options like 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Moreover, it is IP69 & IP68 rated.
