Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition launched with 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display, 200MP Camera
Samsung has launched its new foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition exclusively for the Korean market, and the slimmest and lightest device in the Galaxy Z Fold series. Measuring 10.6mm thick and weighing 236g, it is 1.5mm thinner and 3g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When unfolded, the device is just 4.9mm thick, compared to 5.6mm in the Z Fold 6.
The larger display is a key factor in these changes, featuring an 8-inch QXGA+ screen with a 20:18 aspect ratio, making it wider. The outer display has also grown, offering a 6.5-inch screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC with 16GB of RAM, 512GB (UFS 4.0) storage and is based on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1.
The camera system has been upgraded, with a 200MP main sensor, up from the 50MP in the Z Fold 6, while maintaining the 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP 3x telephoto rear cameras. It still includes a 4MP under-display camera on the inner screen and a 10MP front camera on the outer display. It retains IP48 ratings for dust and water resistance, enhanced Armor Aluminum, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and is equipped with a 4400mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability -
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is available in Black Shadow colour and is priced at 2,789,600 won (approximately $2025 / ₹1,70,295) for the 16GB RAM with 512GB storage model. It will be released in Korea starting on October 25th.
According to the company, customers who purchase and activate the device by December 31st will receive discount coupons for the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
