Meizu Pro 6 launching on April 13th, deca-core processor in tow

In a surprise move, after just having announced the M3 Note, Meizu has begun sending out invites for another press conference in China, where the company is expected to launch their next flagship phone the Meizu Pro 6.

The flagship was rumored to launch in May but its coming earlier than expected. The Meizu Pro 6 has leaked many times in past and in a recent leak we saw information about 2 models on GFXBench and AnTuTu.

The major differences between the GFXBench and Antutu listing are 4.6” inch screen and a 5.5” to 5.7” inch screen. Another difference we see is of the CPU clock speeds, 2.0GHz Deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T processor with 3GB RAM and in the other a 2.5GHz Deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T with 4GB RAM. Meizu had previously confirmed that the 10-core MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T will be exclusive to Meizu smartphones for some months. Both the phones will be powered by ARM Mali-T880 GPU which is currently performing quite well on the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge Exynos variants.

Apart from that, the Meizu Pro 6 is expected to come with a 21MP rear camera, 5MP front-camera and a 3500 mAh battery.

The is no word on the pricing but Meizu flagships are usually priced around or below INR 30,000 and if the phone comes to India on time with good performance and price, we could see a very interesting development in the mid-range segment in India. With the Xiaomi Mi5 recently launched in India and OnePlus prepping the launch of the OnePlus 3, a 3-way fight would be great for consumers.
