Here's another look at the Google Pixel smartphone, launching on October 4th
A nest commercial just showcased a phone which looks a lot like the Google Pixel, which is launching on October 4th.
In the ad you can see a woman holding a phone. From the front the placement of the sensors, front-camera to the absence of any branding as well as the white front panel point to Google's upcoming Pizel smartphone.
Compared to the live images of the phone we saw yesterday, the one in the Nest commercial does seem legit. However, this could just be a dummy phone being used for the commercial with similar design. The bezels look quite large for an Android smartphone in 2016 and we do believe the final result would be a lot sleeker.
Google has already set a launch date of October 4th for its Pixel smartphones where we also expect to see a 4K Chromecast and the first DayDream VT headset. There are very few details on the other two, but the Pixel and Pixel XL are expected to run on the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM and Android 7.2 Nougat.
The company had currently renamed the Nexus launcher to Pixel launcher and has added some more Google branding to it. Moreover, just yesterday we learned that Google was killing all references to "Google Now" with its updated Google App although the products like Now on Tap and Now Cards will remain under different names.
