Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE to get Android 7.0 Nougat update in the coming weeks
It's been weeks since other Nexus devices have been updated to Android 7.0 Nougat while the users of Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE have been sulking on the sides with their age old Marshmallow running devices.
However, there's a glimmer of hope as Android Police reports that both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to a late September release which may be pushed to early October though.
Both devices were launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop on-board and given their 2 year old hardware, we understand it's going to take some more tinkering to get the latest Android version running smoothly. However, just keep in mind this would be last major OS update these devices receive.
If you weren't aware, Android 7.0 Nougat comes with native multi-window support, doze mode improvements for better battery life, quick reply in notifications, Vulkan API support and a lot more.
