Apple’s 2026 iPad Lineup Leak Reveals iPad 12 with A19 bionic, and iPad Air with M4 Chip
Apple’s upcoming iPad 2026 lineup has leaked online, hinting at major upgrades for both the entry-level iPad and the next iPad Air. According to a new report, Apple is preparing to introduce a refreshed base iPad powered by its latest A-series chip, along with an iPad Air featuring the M4 processor.
MacWorld reportedly obtained an internal Apple code document from a pre-release build of iOS 26, revealing information about the upcoming iPad models.
Entry-Level iPad (2026) with A19 Chip -
The document indicates that the new base iPad, identified by the codenames J581 and J582, will use the A19 chip—the same processor found in the iPhone 17 series. If accurate, this would represent a significant upgrade, as the current 11th-gen iPad still runs on the older A16 chip.
The refreshed model is also expected to feature Apple’s new N1 wireless chip, first introduced with the iPhone 17 lineup. Other specifications are likely to remain similar to the existing 11th-gen iPad.
iPad Air with M4 Chip -
The document also references a new iPad Air powered by the M4 SoC, along with the N1 wireless chipset. This model appears under the codenames J707, J708, J737, and J738. Aside from the processor upgrades, the design and display are expected to remain unchanged from the 2025 iPad Air.
According to the report, the A19-powered iPad 12 and the M4-equipped iPad Air are expected to launch early next year, though an exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
