Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Prime launched
Alongwith MIUI 7, Xiaomi today announced the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime both for China to be available on August 16th. Both run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7 and have received quite an upgrade spec-wise when compared to the Redmi Note 4G. Let's have a look:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime has the exact same specs, but uses a higher-clocked 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio x10 processor and storage is doubled at 32GB. We have seen the same chipset on the far costlier HTC M9+ earlier this year.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be available in three variants:
- 16GB Variant with TDD-LTE + TD-SCDMA priced at RMB 799 (USD 125 or INR 8100)
- 16GB Variant with TDD-LTE + FDD-LTE support priced at RMB 899 (USD 140 or INR 9100)
- 32GB Variant Redmi Note 2 Prime with TDD-LTE + FDD-LTE support priced at RMB 999 (USD 156 or INR 10,100)
These will be available in a variety of pastel colors including pink, cyan, yellow as well as black and white.
Update: We have just got word, that the storage might not be expandable on the Redmi Note 2. Hence the post has been updated.
