Xiaomi Redmi 5 Launched in India featuring 18:9 full-screen display, priced at Rs. 7999
Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi 5 Android smartphone in India. It was announced back in December in China, packing a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) 18:9 full-screen display running on the Snapdragon 450 processor with up to 3GB RAM onboard. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 still runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box with MIUI 9, has a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera with selfie flash.
It has a metal build similar to the Redmi Note 5, and even though it is 7.7mm thick, it still manages to pack a 3300 mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor on the phone is available on the back. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE support, Hybrid Dual-SIM (micro + nano/microSD) slot, Infrared sensor, WiFi, Bluetoth, GPS and FM Radio.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue color options. It has been priced at Rs. 7999 for the 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage, Rs. 8999 for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, while the 4GB RAM option with 64GB storage will be selling for Rs. 10,999. You will get a free clear case within the box.
The Redmi 5 will be exclusively available online on Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting March 20th. At launch you can also avail 5% cashback with SBI Credit cards on Amazon and Mi.com.
