Xiaomi MIUI 7 Global stable build starts rolling out
Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 7 global stable version for most of its smartphones. MIUI 7 was announced bake in August, and it brings in a host of new features and improvements. The only caveat here is this is just a MIUI skin update, smartphones running on KitKat will still run on KitKat, and those on Lollipop will remain there as well.
The most notable new features of MIUI 7 are new themes, option to choose large font size, parental controls, child mode, better battery life by about 10% and better system responsiveness. Parents with babies would also like the new baby album feature which lets you group all your baby images together so that they can be sent together.
MIUI 7 update is now available in India as well as an OTA update for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi Pad, Redmi 1s, Redmi 2/Redmi 2 Prime and the Redmi Note 4G. We have already got the update on the Redmi 2 and the Xiaomi Mi Pad in India. The update will be gradually rolled out to the rest of the smartphones as well, so do stay tuned. Devices not mentioned in the list like the Mi 4i are slated to get the update soon as well.
If you haven't received a notification of the update, just open the Updater app and check for updates. You can also download a compatible build for your device from here.
