Xiaomi is launching its flagship Mi 5 at MWC 2016 in just a couple of hours. The event will also be live-streamed and you can catch all the action here. We will also be live-blogging through the entire event for our take on Xiaomi's new Mi 5 on Facebook and Twitter.
From what we know with the latest leaks and rumors on the Mi 5, it is expected to come with a metal and glass design, similar to the Mi Note Pro series from last year. Apart from that we also expect a home button, in the front which will also double-up as the fingerprint sensor for the device.

Coming to specs, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is almost confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with two options to choose from, a 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant as well as a 4GB RAM/64 GB storage variant. If you were wondering, from what we have heard storage will also be expandable this time around.
Then there's the question of software, where Xiaomi generally lacks when it comes to running the latest from Google's stable. But for the Mi 5, that won't be the case. Out of the box the Xiaomi Mi 5 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 7 on top. It will also support dual-SIM slots with 4G LTE connectivity, a USB Type-C port with fast charging and NFC for payments.
Cameras have always been a point of focus for both consumers as well as Xiaomi. There is not much detail on the sensors, the company may use in the Mi 5 but you will have a 16MP rear/ 8MP front shooter. Again with capability to record 4K as well as slow motion videos. According to the latest reports. the Mi 5 is going to be insanely thin, at less than 6.5mm and still carry a 3600 mAh battery, but that's something I'll have to see to believe.
That's it folks, its everything we know about the Xiaomi Mi 5 for now but do catch us later at 9:00 AM CET (01:30 PM IST, India) when the event begins.
