Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max launched with 6.3-inch 1.5K/6.9-inch 2K LTPO and 2.7/2.9-inch rear 120Hz OLED screens, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC

Xiaomi also launched its latest flagship smartphones in the 17 series, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and an all-new category with the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, alongside the Xiaomi 17. The Xiaomi 17 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED flat M10 LTPO display featuring a 1–120Hz refresh rate and ultra-narrow 1.18mm bezels, achieved through LIPO display packaging technology. On the back, it includes a 2.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED secondary display.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, on the other hand, offers a larger 6.9-inch 2K OLED flat M10 LTPO display that supports a 1–120Hz refresh rate and incorporates independent pixel array technology for sharper detail with reduced power consumption compared to traditional 2K screens. This model also comes with Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0, designed to provide enhanced durability, and includes a 2.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED rear screen.

Both phones make use of a domestically developed SuperRED luminous material, a significant technological breakthrough that delivers improved luminous efficiency and enables peak brightness levels of up to 3500 nits.

Dynamic Back Display -

A key highlight of the Pro series is the Dynamic Back Display, which is designed to boost both lifestyle convenience and productivity. It offers features like customizable watch faces, AI wallpapers, dynamic information updates, sticky notes, and even interactive virtual pets. Users can turn photos of people or pets into AI wallpapers, with support for animated effects and portrait styles. The new virtual pet system debuts its third-generation character — Pangda the panda — which can perform diverse actions depending on context and even respond to user gestures.

The rear display also delivers real-time notifications for flights, train schedules, food deliveries, ride-hailing updates, and music playback, while the flexible pin feature allows users to keep schedules, QR codes, or emojis always visible. It can also serve as a preview and selfie screen, letting users capture self-portraits with the main cameras, enhanced by beauty algorithms and a variety of filters for natural-looking results.

When the main display is closed, the phone transforms into a Handheld-Console Mode, allowing notifications to remain visible on the rear screen. Paired with an exclusive Bluetooth case, it can even double as a retro-style gaming console.

Camera -

The Xiaomi 17 Pro series is equipped with the Leica Summilux imaging system. The primary camera comes with a large f/1.67 aperture, a 1G+6P lens design, and an anti-glare coating. It is powered by the Light Fusion 950L sensor, featuring a substantial 1/1.28″ size and next-generation LOFIC High Dynamic technology, delivering an impressive 16.5EV sensor dynamic range.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro introduces an inverted floating telephoto lens capable of capturing detailed telephoto macro shots from as close as 20cm. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, meanwhile, is fitted with a 5x periscope telephoto camera that uses an expanded 1/2″ sensor, a large f/2.6 aperture, and hardware-level HDR. Its newly designed light-gathering prism boosts light intake by 30%, resulting in brighter, clearer images. Both models also feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera, while the front camera has been upgraded to 50MP for sharper selfies and video recording.

Battery -

On the battery front, the Xiaomi 17 Pro series adopts an advanced design with 16% silicon content and an L-shaped stacked structure that maximizes internal space, increasing energy density while keeping the devices slim.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro packs a 6300mAh battery, whereas the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max houses a larger 7500mAh unit. Both support 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and the 100W PPS universal fast-charging standard. In addition, the phones come with UWB functionality, enabling seamless car key integration for keyless entry and smooth smart interactions.
