Sony starts rolling out Android Marshmallow update for the Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact
Android Marshmallow has turned out to be a slow update, the companies used to have a track record of updating the phones by Q1 of every year but this time around it has been slow for most of the OEM’s and Sony is no exception.
Today the company has announced the roll-out of Android Marshmallow for their Z series smartphones, namely, the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.
There is no official changelog available (yet!) but there's a new camera app alongwith the february Android security patch in the build.
You can also install the OTA updates manually by downloading the firmware files from below, which is relatively risk free but make sure that the updates are compatible with your smartphone.
- Xperia Z3 (D6603) 23.5.A.0.570 Ukraine Generic (Android 6.0.1)
- Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803) 23.5.A.0.570 Latin America Generic (Android 6.0.1)
- Xperia Z2 (D6503) 23.5.A.0.570 Philippines Generic (Android 6.0.1)
We hope to see more Sony devices being updated to the latest Android version. If you have received the Marshmallow update on your Sony Xperia, do tell us the changes you have seen especially with battery-life.
