Snapdragon 8s Elite Details Specs Surfaced Online: Expected Launch with iQOO and Redmi Devices in April 2025
Qualcomm introduced its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC in October last year, and now details about the Snapdragon 8s Elite, identified by model number SM8735, have emerged. The early clock speeds for the chip are reported as 1 x 3.21GHz + 3 x 3.01GHz + 2 x 2.80GHz + 2 x 2.02GHz, utilizing a 1+3+2+2 architecture with Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Unlike the flagship variant featuring custom Oryon Cores, this SoC is expected to use an Adreno 825 GPU instead of the Adreno 830 in the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Geekbench 6 benchmark results show single-core and multi-core scores of 1967 and 5827, respectively, for an upcoming iQOO phone powered by the chip.
These results are only slightly different from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but according to Leaker Digital Chat Station, these scores are based on prototype devices, and final retail units may deliver improved performance. The Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to debut in devices from iQOO and Redmi around April 2025. Rumours suggest the Redmi device could feature a 1.5K OLED display, a massive 7000mAh battery, and 90W fast charging, potentially launching globally as the POCO F7.
