Samsung schedules event for June 2 in NYC, Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX Bluetooth headset expected
Just yesterday, specs of Samsung Gear Fit 2 were revealed and now Samsung has started rolling out invites for a June 2 event in NYC. The invite reads Go, Move, Explore, Create with Galaxy which does hint at a fitness focused device launch.
The Gear Fit 2 has already showed up on several leaks and we already know pretty much what it is going to pack. From the leaked reports, its expected that the Gear Fit 2 would come with a 1.55-inch Curved Super AMOLED display running on Samsung's own dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, 2GB Storage and Tizen OS 2.3. It would be a water and dust-resistant smartphone with IP68 rating with a GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, Barometer built-in.
Samsung may also launch its completely wireless Bluetooth headset, the Gear Icon X at the event. These are completely wireless without any wires between the two earphones. These are expected to be controlled by touch and would possibly be able to work as a standalone music player with 4GB inbuilt storage and behave as a fitness tracker as well.
The event is scheduled for 5PM EST on June 2nd (June 3rd 2:30AM IST) and we will have more details, confirmation on pricing then.
