Samsung announces new Galaxy Tab 3, new design, same old specs
Samsung has announced the new Galaxy Tab 3 which is more or less designed like the Galaxy Note 8.0, which was announced at the MObile World Congress. The specsheet is pretty much same as its predecessor Galaxy Tab 2 but weighs less at 302 grams and is just 9.9 mm thin.
The 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 has the same 1024x600 pixel display, which is similar to the offering from Amazon, but less than the Nexus 7 and the HP Slate 7 which have 1024x700 pixel displays, available around the same sub-$250 price point. The Galaxy Tab 3 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and available in 8GB and 16GB storage variants.
At present Samsung will just be producing the Wi-Fi only version, which will be available globally in May while the 3G version will go on sale in June. There is no mention of how much the the different variants of the Galaxy Tab 3 are going to cost, but we'll have that information in the coming weeks.
