Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Could Switch to MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 FE could be the first in the FE series to ditch Exynos in favour of a MediaTek processor, according to a recent report by Notebookcheck. The report suggests that Samsung is considering the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset for the Galaxy S25 FE, replacing the previously used Exynos 2400e found in the Galaxy S24 FE. This move is reportedly a contingency plan due to potential production constraints surrounding the Exynos chips.

Interestingly, the Exynos 2400e is also rumored to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE — a more affordable foldable option — which might explain Samsung’s shift to MediaTek for the S25 FE. Notably, the company has already used the Dimensity 9300+ in its Galaxy Tab S10 series.

While the Exynos 2400e has a slightly lower clock speed (3.1GHz) compared to the standard Exynos 2400 (3.2GHz), most features remain the same. However, benchmarks indicate that the Dimensity 9400 outperforms both Exynos variants, which could translate to a noticeable performance boost over the Galaxy S24 FE if the switch happens.

The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to carry over the same display, camera setup, and battery as its predecessor. More information is likely to surface in the coming months, as the device is expected to launch towards the end of 2025.
