Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 renders surface online with Smart Glow notifications
Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) renders with Smart Glow notifications have just surfaced online. Earlier we had seen a user manual containing images of the new feature which allows the phone to show several actions using a ring notification led mounted around the camera sensor at the back.
According to previous reports, Smart Glow would allow users to configure different colors to show priority notifications possibly based on separate apps. The ring would also show work as a battery-status LED and guide users to take selfies with the rear camera by flashing a particular color when their face is detected by the rear camera. This looks like a neat feature, but depends on how much customization Samsung offers for Smart Glow.
Specs of the upcoming Galaxy J2 (SM-J210F) had surfaced online earlier as well which point to a budget centric 4G LTE capable smartphone with:
- 5-inch 720p HD Display
- 1.5 GHz Quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830A Processor
- Mali-400MP2 GPU
- 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal Storage expandable with microSD Card Slot
- Smart Glow Notifications
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- 8MP AF Rear Camera with LED Flash
- 5MP Front Camera
- 4G LTE, Dual-SIM, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1
The Samsung Galaxy J2 is expected to arrive in India first within a couple of weeks. Samsung may be using this smartphone as a testbed for Smart Glow notifications which will make it to future flagships.
