Samsung updates Galaxy Gear with full notifications, better battery life
The Galaxy Gear is one of the first smartwatches from a major tech company, and although it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of functionality, Samsung got almost everything right with the design and some User Interface elements. Now, it seems with the new update the Galaxy Gear is getting better at its software as well. According to Engadget, the new update brings complete notifications, not just icons saying you have a notification on your phone. The lift and pause gesture to see time has also been improved and works this time around.
Although Samsung has not said anything about better battery life, users of the Galaxy Gear have reported better battery life after the update. The Galaxy Gear only worked with the Galaxy Note 3 on launch, but Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S3 have added support for the gear as well, giving it a wider support and possibly a bigger market.
