Samsung Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 go official with metal body, 4GB RAM
After weeks of leaks, the Samsung Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 are now official. Both come with a metal build and 4GB RAM with 1080p Super AMOLED displays.
Samsung Galaxy C5
The Galaxy C5 is smaller of the duo and comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display running on the Snapdragon 617 octa-core SoC with 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable storage, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
You have a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture lens, which in theory should be better than the Galaxy A5 2016 and you also have an 8MP (f/1.9) front-facing camera. Just like the Galaxy A5 you also have a fingerprint sensor up front embedded within the home button. It is a dual-SIM 4G LTE device with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and yes, NFC as well for Samsung Pay. But you do have a hybrid SIM slot arrangement with two nano-SIM slots, one of which can be used to expand storage.
Samsung has packed a 2600 mAh battery inside the svelte 6.7mm thin shell of the Galaxy C5 keeping the curb weight at just 143 grams. Its priced at CNY 2199 (about $330 or Rs. 22,500) for 32GB variant and CNY 2399 (about $360 or Rs. 24,500) for the 64GB variant. It is already available for pre-order in China and will be going on sale come June 17th. At present there is no word on a global availability.
Samsung Galaxy C7
The Galaxy C7 on the other hand comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display and runs on a more powerful octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC.
There's still 4GB RAM onboard and a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of storage which is expandable with the hybrid second nano-SIM slot on the device. Samsung is still keeping the svelte shape here with a 6.7mm thin body which now has a much larger 3300 mAh battery inside with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
Connectivity options are similar here as well, dual-SIM 4G LTE, dual band WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Fingerprint sensor and NFC. You also have the same camera combination here as the Galaxy C5 including a 16MP f/1.9 rear camera and 8MP front-camera for selfies.
The Galaxy C7 has been priced at CNY 2599 for the 32GB variant (about $400 or Rs. 26500) and CNY 2799 (about $430 or Rs. 28500) for the 64GB storage variant. At present there is no word on availability.
