Samsung Exynos 2500 Deca-Core SoC launched Globally with 3nm process, Xclipse 950 GPU

    samsung exynos 2500 launch global.

Samsung has quietly launched its latest flagship Exynos 2500 Deca-Core SoC in the Global market. While still a Deca-Core chipset, it now utilizes a more advanced 3nm process technology, an upgrade from the previous 4nm LPP+ process.

    CPU -

The Exynos 2500 features a tri-cluster CPU design, comprising a single Arm Cortex-X5 large core clocked at 3.3 GHz for peak performance, five mid-range cores including 2 Cortex-A725 cores at 2.74 GHz and 3 Cortex-A725 cores at 2.36 GHz for balanced workloads, and four Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.8 GHz for energy efficiency. Samsung claims a 15% boost in CPU performance compared to the Exynos 2400.

    GPU -

It is equipped with the 4th generation Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU, built on AMD’s powerful RDNA 3 architecture and featuring hardware ray tracing technology that simulates realistic light behavior for enhanced visuals. The GPU has been upgraded from 6WGP/4RB to 8WGP/8RB, improving ray traversal performance and adding support for instance transform hardware acceleration. This results in a 28% increase in frames per second (FPS) when ray tracing is enabled, according to Samsung.

    NPU -

The NPU in the Exynos 2500 can perform up to 59 trillion operations per second (TOPS), marking a 39% improvement over the previous generation. It includes two 12K MAC clusters, delivering a combined 24K MAC capability, significantly higher than the 17K MACs of its predecessor. Enhanced vector engine efficiency further accelerates generative AI models, boosting performance by up to 90% on MobileBERT, Samsung stated.

Like the Exynos 2400, the Exynos 2500 uses fan-out wafer-level packaging (FOWLP) to improve power efficiency and heat dissipation while reducing chip thickness. It also integrates a GNSS7 block and supports the latest connectivity standards, including Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7.
