Samsung has launched its new 60W Power Adapter in India, following its initial debut last year. Designed to power a broad range of devices, including smartphones, laptops, and wireless earbuds, the adapter aims to simplify daily charging needs with a single, efficient solution suitable for both home and travel.

GaN Technology and Compact Build -

The charger is built using Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, replacing conventional silicon-based components. This transition enables a more compact design without compromising on power output or efficiency.

Thanks to GaN architecture, the adapter operates at lower temperatures, minimizing overheating risks and reducing energy loss. Samsung states that this improved thermal performance also enhances the product’s overall durability compared to traditional chargers.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability -

The 60W adapter integrates features focused on reducing power consumption and environmental impact:

Ultra-Low Standby Consumption - When plugged in without a connected device, it draws just 0.005W of power, significantly limiting idle electricity usage.
Use of Recycled Materials - The charger incorporates 20% recycled materials in its construction, certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Intelligent Power Delivery -

To ensure compatibility across multiple devices, the adapter supports USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 along with Programmable Power Supply (PPS).

PPS technology dynamically adjusts voltage and current in real time based on the connected device’s requirements. By supplying only the necessary power, the adapter enhances charging efficiency, reduces excess heat, and supports long-term battery health.

In terms of performance, the 60W output is capable of charging the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra up to 75% in approximately 30 minutes.
