Samsung planning to launch waterproof and dustproof version called Galaxy S4 Active
Samsung has a ruggedized version of the Galxy S4 in the works which will be both dust-proof and waterproof. The WSJ reports that Samsung is indeed working on the Galaxy S4 Active, which will retain the look and feel of the regular Galaxy S4 and be launched sometime in July.
Earlier, Samsung President for the gulf region Young Soo Kim had let slip in an interview that a ruggedized Galaxy S4 was in the works and will be announced soon. The only flagship at the moment which is both dustproof and waterproof is the Sony Xperia Z. With the Galaxy S4 Active, Sasmung will try to take over the market which is looking for a rugged smartphone which can be taken on adventurous trips without having to worry about its fate.
At present there is no information about which markets will the Rugged Galaxy S4 Active will be launched or how does Samsung intend to keep the same look as its regular brother. But we'll keep you apprised of what happens on this front.
