REDMI K80 Pro to be launched on November 27th with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 50MP telephoto camera, 6000mAh battery
Update - Xiaomi has officially revealed key details about the camera features of the REDMI K80 Pro, ahead of its announcement later this week. The company confirmed that the smartphone will feature a 50MP main camera with a Light Fusion 800 sensor, a 32MP 120° ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with a 10cm macro capability.
REDMI product manager Xinxin explained the decision to equip the K80 Pro with a floating telephoto lens, noting that it delivers impressive image quality for both distant and close-up photography. According to Leaker Digital Chat Station, the phone will use the same sensor as the Xiaomi 15 but with a 24mm focal length, enabling a 2.5x optical zoom equivalent, compared to the 2.7x on the Xiaomi 15. The leaker also shared macro photo samples captured by the device.
Earlier - Xiaomi confirmed the launch of its latest smartphone in the Redmi K80 series on November 27th in China, after unveiling the key details about the REDMI K80 Pro, including its display, SoC, and other features. The phone features a Snow White colour variant, crafted using an integrated process, and boasts a 1.9mm ultra-narrow chin with a nearly perfect 50:50 golden weight ratio. The revealed image also highlights its metal frame.
The K80 Pro will adopt a top punch-hole design similar to the Xiaomi 15, maintaining a cohesive visual aesthetic. It retains the infrared remote control functionality, cleverly concealed within the rear camera module.
Xiaomi previously confirmed the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and has now revealed that the phone is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance. It will feature Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 and the proprietary Xiaomi Star Communication technology. The Phone will be powered by a 6000mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging.
The phone runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, with a new D1 gaming chip, dual-loop 3D ice cooling, and Rage Engine 4.0. According to the company, it achieved an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 3,194,766 points. The REDMI Rage Engine 4.0 will enable 120 fps Super Resolution and Super Frame Concurrency across all games.
In terms of display, the K80 Pro will sport a 2K M9 OLED flat screen with a global peak brightness of 1800 nits, similar to the Xiaomi 15. Earlier reports suggest it will feature a 6.67-inch (3200×1440) 2K screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 3200 nits.
